About RibRak
The Story Behind RibRak
This started back in 2024 when a close friend offered me the use of his rib boat whilst he was abroad with work.
Over that summer my family and I had lots of really enjoyable and memorable trips out to sea on the rib along the Dorset coast. These outings would invariably include a couple of large, unwieldy paddleboards for the kids to use that we would stow in the rib, taking up most of the free space, and we would then spend our time in the rib clambering over, or falling on top of the boards. Launching and recovering the paddleboards was also a feat in itself, manoeuvring them over the rib’s tubes and into the water, which was invariably a chaotic experience!
After a couple of these outings I thought that there must be a mounting/racking solution that could purchase to be used to stow the paddleboards on the rib, and searched extensively, but none existed. Later that summer I visited the Southampton Boat Show, visiting every rib and paddleboard exhibiter, and water sports outlet, but could still not find the solution.
So, I decided to produce the solution myself!
Two years later, having juggled work and finances, and with lots of support - principally from Innovate-Design and Blank_House Design, RibRak was born, offering a high-quality, safe and secure on board paddleboard stowage and launch/recovery solution for ribs. I really hope that you enjoy your RibRak and I would love to hear your feedback!
